OUR STORY
The Co-Founders of
ArtHouse Social
ArtHouse Social started from a personal story — and was co-founded by Nina and Ella, who believe that creativity and friendship can change lives.
Where it all started
ArtHouse Social started with Renee, Nina’s daughter. When she finished school, the close friendships she'd built over the years disappeared overnight. Staying in touch became really difficult.
Nina, Renee's mum, watched this happen and saw the same thing happening to lots of other young adults with additional needs in the area. There just weren't enough places for them to meet people and make friends.
"Art sessions changed everything for Renee. She found a creative outlet, gained confidence, and connected with others in a real way." says Nina.
That's why Nina and Ella created ArtHouse Social together — so no young adult has to feel that isolated.
Ella, Co-Founder
Ella Deeks co-founded ArtHouse Social and runs our sessions. She's a qualified art therapist working with young people, with teaching experience and training in psychotherapeutic counselling. She's really warm and easy to talk to.
Before becoming a therapist, Ella was a teacher — so she really understands how young people learn, grow, and connect. She has a natural way of making everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
"So many young adults face isolation, but through creativity and connection, we can make a real difference."

Nina, Co-Founder
Nina Stafford co-founded ArtHouse Social and runs the charity side — everything from fundraising and admin to keeping everyone connected. Her determination to create something meaningful for young adults in the community is what brought ArtHouse Social to life.
Having seen firsthand how art sessions helped Renee gain confidence and take ownership of her life, Nina was determined to build something bigger — a community where everyone belongs, not just one person.
"This isn't just about creating opportunities for one person. It's about building a community where everyone belongs."

Building Something Lasting
ArtHouse Social has applied for charitable status with the Charity Commission. We've established a board of trustees, adopted our constitution, and submitted our application in January 2026. While we await formal registration, we're already operating with the governance structures and standards that charitable status requires. This foundation ensures we can be here for young adults who need us, now and well into the future.
A free art group for independent young adults aged 18–25 with learning differences or neurodivergence.
Based in South Woodford, London.
